The Organic Pharmacy‘s double duty Lip & Eye Cream is formulated for all skin types and was created to replenish moisture, reduce puffiness, and restore elasticity. Lip & Eye Cream contains no artificial preservatives, fragrances, colorants, petrochemicals, or animal ingredients, is not tested on animals, and, like all products from The Organic Pharmacy, is between 95 and 99% organic.

I was lucky enough to get to try out Lip & Eye Cream from The Organic Pharmacy, and I always jump on the chance to try new beauty products!

First, let’s talk ingredients.

Key Ingredients

Eye Bright: an anti-inflammatory for the eye area
Fennel: antibacterial, decongesting and toning action
Evening primrose oil*: high essential fatty acid content helps repair dry cracked lips
Frankincense: anti-wrinkle and anti-inflammatory action
Bilberry: high in anti-oxidants and gentle fruit acids that reduce redness while toning and rejuvenating the skin
Rosehip: clinically proven to reduce scarring and the appearance of wrinkles, while conditioning the skin
Marigold: anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, soothing and healing

The Lip & Eye Cream contains none of those nasties you wouldn’t want near your eyes, or anywhere on your face, for that matter – no parabens, no artificial fragrances or colorants…

So, how does it work?

When I wake up in the morning, my under eye area is ridiculously puffy, probably from my allergies, so that was my first test. I lightly tapped my finger on the product (and I mean LIGHTLY, you only need a VERY little bit, and because of that, the jar can last you a long, long time), and patted it under my eyes. I didn’t notice a reduction in the dark circles (but to be fair, I’m very pale, and that’s why I have dark circles), but I noticed an instant reduction in the puffiness.

I wouldn’t say it’s perfect for using in the daytime and underneath makeup – it is pretty thick and doesn’t absorb easily. If you want to use ut in the daytime, use it LIGHTLY, give it a few minutes, than apply your makeup. It would work well overnight, though.

The next test was to use it on my lips. My lips tend to be very dry, so this was another good way to see how the cream would work. First, let me comment on the smell. It’s light and doesn’t bother me when using the cream under my eyes, but when I put it lightly on my lips, I really didn’t like the taste. It did, though, do it’s job and moisturize very well, so I would deal with it once in a while when I feel I really need a lip moisturizing treatment.

At $71.92 on The Organic Pharmacy‘s website, it’s a bit pricey, but like I said, you only need to apply it lightly, and the jar will last you a long time. Since I’ve yet to notice much in the way of wrinkles, I plan to use the cream as a preventative product.

  1. Reading this, made me feel like trying…

  2. Thanks for sharing one more opportunity to know about one more eco-friendly item in cosmetical industry!

  3. This appears to be quite an effective concoction, if my awareness of its ingredients serves me right. Such a commonplace ingredient such as Evening Primrose Oil will surprise many in terms of its effectiveness: Western Diets simply do not contain enough of the full spectrum of fatty acids.
