Giveaway! Agent18 EcoShield Slider Case for iPhone 3G/3GS

Today I have a treat for you as, I normally would not do product review, or make site announcements for that matter. As to our site announcement, if you’re viewing through a mobile phone you already know, Focus Organic is launching our mobile friendly page. Our mobile page will recognize your phone, smart phone, or iPod touch and scale the site for best viewing. To access this is just the same as entering our web address on your mobile phone or your smart phone. We are having some slow-loading problems on one of our test phones, so be aware that you may have some loading issues as well. Testing on the iPhone is flawless, however.
After buying an iPhone 3GS and knowing the value is much higher later if you can keep the scratches to a minimum, I started looking for a case that would offer ultimate protection, and, moreover, be eco friendly, or at least more so than what is already offered on the market. That is when I found the EcoShield for the iPhone from Agent18. It is offered in a black, a blue, and a white version.
Now, before I get going on the review, I should let you all know that we will be giving away to one lucky reader a Black EcoShield Slider case for the iPhone3G/3GS. The rules for the giveaway are simple and in Focus Organic tradition will follow at the end of the review.
The very cool green aspect of the EcoShield Slider case is that it is made from post-consumer plastic bottles – you know, the ones you try to throw in the recycle bin, but don’t always make it. This case also comes with a screen protector, which is always a good idea when stuffing your iPhone deep in your pockets or purse with your keys and other sharp or blunt items. Also included in the package is a nice little stand to place your phone on.
The case itself is lightweight and as stylish as it is sturdy. Agent18 placed silicon pads in just the right places on both the inside and out. On the inside of the phone the pads grab firmly along the back and sides of your iPhone. The case also sports silicone covers for the volume rocker and power button along with finger grips to help avoid the nasty slips while pulling your phone out of your pocket. The EcoShield is thin so it won’t add all that unwanted bulk to your loved iPhone or take up every bit of free space in your pocket.
In every respect, the EcoShield by Agent18 has both the look and feel to be long term protection for your iPhone3G/3GS. The included stand is also quite useful, believe it or not. One of the other good things for those of us that use the GPS in our iPhone is that the Agent18 EcoShield does not have negative effects on reception.
The only problems with general case design are easy access to the ring/vibrate rocker switch and, and connecting 3rd party chargers to the phone. The Griffin car charger is just a bit wide, but will lock in place with a little more than normal effort. Time will only tell if the space around the silicon pads will allow micro-scratching from dust that will find its way into any case.
Agent18 also offers protective products for your iPod and Zune as well as computer bags and a computer case for the MacBook Air. I do truly wish they would start offering more computer cases for the new MacBook Pro, line as the one for the MacBook Air is quite stylish. Unfortunately, the only members of their product line that are truly eco-friendly are those in the EcoShield line.
